Dear Susan Holt, John Dornan and René Legacy,
My name is [First Name] [Last Name].
As your constituent, I’m writing in support of health care workers across New Brunswick who are asking for a Fair Finish — retirement at age 60 with unreduced pension benefits.
These professionals have carried our province through crisis after crisis. They face high-risk, physically demanding work for decades, often starting in their early 20s. By 60, many are suffering from pain and burnout.
Their work is as critical, high-risk, and taxing as that of firefighters or correctional officers — yet they are denied the same retirement rights in a time when we desperately need more frontline health care workers. These unnecessary roadblocks only make it more difficult to compete with jurisdictions like Nova Scotia for expertise.
This is a matter of fairness, health, and respect. Reducing the pension of health care workers for choosing to retire at 60, after decades of service, is unacceptable. Please support the Fair Finish - they’ve earned it.
Sincerely,
[First Name] [Last Name]
